Our God is big!

After much prayer and hours on the phone to everywhere from Washington D.C. to Yakima, we finally contacted the right people who pushed through our paperwork! Miracle done! So Mom and I our packing!

Today I prepared the girls backpacks. They have not even one earthly possession at this point. These clothes they will wear home - they have to give back their orphanage clothes. Earlier this week, I went to my mailbox and was greeted with a letter from the girls. I was so excited I ripped it open to find it was in Amharic! A day later I found someone in Ferndale to translate it. It was wonderful. Halima, our oldest, at the end of her 2 page letter requested that I bring 2 gifts for 2 dear women at the orphanage that have become "like family" to her. This is a very good sign. First that Halima has bonded with people while there and second that she is thankful and cares to give them something. We assume the girls were bonded with their birth parents (before they died) and it sounds like Halima is bonded with these gals....so psychologists say that if they have bonded once they can bond again! So that is good news!

Thanks for sharing the journey with us! Annie
